Showing the love of Jesus Christ to a lost and hurting world

Weighed and Measured, lying, volunteering

Happy Friday friends,

This last week we recorded a promotional video for Christmas, that should be coming out pretty soon. I did some volunteer work at the church. We did a deep clean of the church to get ready for the holiday season. Also, you may know I work out during the week. This week at work out i injured my leg, it’s hard getting old 😂 seems I stretched, pulled, not torn in half or anything, but I hurt a muscle near the right knee. The doc says 2 weeks and it should be fine. So, praying for that and praising for God’s protection since the muscle wasn’t actually ripped in half. Praise the Lord for that!

Sadly, this week Pastor Joseph’s brother died, Martin. Pastor will be traveling to Kenya next week for the burial. Prayers got safe travel and for him and his family as they adjust to their new reality.

Classes are still happening, prayers for the teachers, for the students, for the facilities, for everything to run well and for God to be glorified in the process as we chase after Him.

Things coming up: today. Friday afternoon, we have a Scale Outreach by main market in Jinja City. We should be there by about 4:30 if you want to come over and help or, if you want to come and get weighed and find out how tall you are you’re welcome to come. It’s free! Normally people are charged to know how much they weigh in Uganda.

Then we have our discipleship dinner tomorrow night. Next week we’re holding a Round Rable where we’re going to talk about: when is it okay to lie? The Bible has a lot to say about lying and there’s even examples of lying in the Bible. We’re going to discuss it next Friday. We also have some evangelism coming up in a couple weeks, there’s still a lot going on as we’re heading into the holiday season.

Then lastly, prayers for the Christmas program. I think you know that Called Christians is a prison ministry and we go to 10 prisons. We put on a Christmas program every year for the prisoners. The cast is practicing now, the singing, the dancin,g the acting. Prayers for that so it goes well and then we’re also praying for provision to buy rice for prisoners as a Christmas present. As you can imagine 10 prison is a lot of people so it’s big chunk of rice! But God’s economy works in ways that we don’t understand. We trust Him and we love Him and we keep moving forward understanding that His provision will come in it’s due time.

Thank you for praying for these things, and for partnering with us as we work to make disciples that make disciples.

31oct prayers and praises

Opiyo’s birthday party was today, thank you for praying (see pic). They played Bible bingo, enjoyed a meal, don’t cake, and heard a gospel message. His official birthday is Monday. Tomorrow, Saturday, Opiyo and Hindu graduate from the Ekisinga business training they have loved that class. We were working on live streaming, making sure classrooms are ready to go. If you want to watch a class online you can go to youtube.com/@CalledChristiansUgandaLast weekend was the care team meeting. That video is up if you haven’t seen it give it a watch. It was so wonderful for my heart to see, here, and talk with you all. What a blessing that is for me each month.I also attended my first visiting day this week. We went to see ariana, kenneth, and rose. We hung out with them for the afternoon and played a few games. We encourage them for the upcoming test that are happening over the next few weeks. It was a good time.I’m also thankful that Nimeri and Sarah went to Kampala and got us a bigger printer. We’ve been putting our printer through a pretty good workout through term one and it wasn’t keeping up. So we’ve purchased a bigger printer. Also, my random share for the week, I’ve been testing recipes. I am trying to make apple carrot pineapple cake. The result isn’t perfect but people have not complained about trying The tests.I’ve also been working with spav on a plan to do advertising for the merch that’s been created. You can see that merch at hupsos.printify.me if you’re looking for some Christmas gifts might just be what you’re looking for.Prayers for the teachers and the students in this second term period That spiritual growth would happen for everyone periodWe also have some Outreaches coming up If you could pray for that. we’re going to deep clean the church before the holiday season, we have a scale outreach coming up, the one-on-one discipleship that’s happening, and we are planning the next round table. Thank you for keeping us covered in prayer, Mukama akuwe omukisa (God bless you in luganda)
