Showing the love of Jesus Christ to a lost and hurting world

Christmas traditions, apologetics, lying

This last week this Friday we held the round table when is it okay to lie? Wow what a wonderful evening with so much conversation back and forth as we all learned what God says about lying. He said we shouldn’t be doing that. The video of the roundtable is on YouTube.com/@calledchristiansuganda if watch it for yourself. This week we also went out for some evangelism. We were chatting with people about Christ and about topics or concerns that people have about faith in Christ. Things like why doesn’t he answer my prayers or why do bad things happen to good people, things our that… I’m thankful for the apologetic classes where we get to help people answer doubts and objections about their faith. Thankful we can equip people to think about such things and be able to respond.

We do have a few more weeks of classes left and then we will be closing for a month. The education department closes for Christmas. Can you believe Christmas is coming up guys, it’s coming so quickly. We have a Christmas video taking about the differences betterment Christmas in Uganda versus the US. We had so much fun making this video, we hope that you enjoy it as well as we learn more about each other and the traditions that we have in different cultures.

Prayers for things coming up: the Christmas program is really dominating our time right now. It’s happening the week of the 15th. We will go to 10 prisons to present a Christmas program to the prisoners. If you guys could cover that in prayer that would be amazing. That souls would be saved and lives would be changed during that time. Plus everything would run smoothly, the transportation, the cast, all the things that go into the store. We have evangelism coming up a couple times over the next few weeks to close out our term. Beverly will be back soon. Then tomorrow, Saturday, there’s the monthly care team meeting. I would love to see your face! You should have gotten an email with the link to attend that call. If you didn’t get it please shoot me a note. Thank you guys for praying and I’ll see you tomorrow 😍

Weighed and Measured, lying, volunteering

Happy Friday friends,

This last week we recorded a promotional video for Christmas, that should be coming out pretty soon. I did some volunteer work at the church. We did a deep clean of the church to get ready for the holiday season. Also, you may know I work out during the week. This week at work out i injured my leg, it’s hard getting old 😂 seems I stretched, pulled, not torn in half or anything, but I hurt a muscle near the right knee. The doc says 2 weeks and it should be fine. So, praying for that and praising for God’s protection since the muscle wasn’t actually ripped in half. Praise the Lord for that!

Sadly, this week Pastor Joseph’s brother died, Martin. Pastor will be traveling to Kenya next week for the burial. Prayers got safe travel and for him and his family as they adjust to their new reality.

Classes are still happening, prayers for the teachers, for the students, for the facilities, for everything to run well and for God to be glorified in the process as we chase after Him.

Things coming up: today. Friday afternoon, we have a Scale Outreach by main market in Jinja City. We should be there by about 4:30 if you want to come over and help or, if you want to come and get weighed and find out how tall you are you’re welcome to come. It’s free! Normally people are charged to know how much they weigh in Uganda.

Then we have our discipleship dinner tomorrow night. Next week we’re holding a Round Rable where we’re going to talk about: when is it okay to lie? The Bible has a lot to say about lying and there’s even examples of lying in the Bible. We’re going to discuss it next Friday. We also have some evangelism coming up in a couple weeks, there’s still a lot going on as we’re heading into the holiday season.

Then lastly, prayers for the Christmas program. I think you know that Called Christians is a prison ministry and we go to 10 prisons. We put on a Christmas program every year for the prisoners. The cast is practicing now, the singing, the dancin,g the acting. Prayers for that so it goes well and then we’re also praying for provision to buy rice for prisoners as a Christmas present. As you can imagine 10 prison is a lot of people so it’s big chunk of rice! But God’s economy works in ways that we don’t understand. We trust Him and we love Him and we keep moving forward understanding that His provision will come in it’s due time.

Thank you for praying for these things, and for partnering with us as we work to make disciples that make disciples.
